For Louet Standard Victoria S90 Etc Spinning Wheel Drive Band Stretchy Grippy

My clear, orange or black, stretchy, grippy, polycord drive bands are ideal as direct compatible replacements for most models of Louet spinning wheel, and the two ends are already fused together to create a completed circular drive band (as Louet originals are).

NB. The black drive band has a barely noticeable, 14mm long manufacturers inscription of tiny grey characters located every 30cm along one side (please see photo).

I supply three different sizes of Louet-compatible drive bands, in both clear, orange and black colour options, and they all cost the same price of £8.95 each (plus postage):

Compatible STANDARD drive band: direct compatible replacement for the majority of Louet wheels: S10, S10C, S15, S17, S20, S50, S51, S60, S70, S71, S75, S76, S77 and S80 ('Olivia').

Compatible VICTORIA drive band: direct compatible replacement for Louet Victoria S95/S96 wheels.

Compatible S90 drive band: direct compatible replacement for the Louet S90 wheel.

Fitting the pre-joined polycord drive band: The procedure for fitting the pre-joined drive band on a Louet is ‘style’-dependent, and is outlined below for a number of different ‘styles’:

For vintage models that have just the one tall upright post (at the back, behind the drive wheel) and also a metal locking nut at the front of the footman to hold the footman to the drive wheel’s shaft, the easiest way is to use a screwdriver to temporarily remove the polycord footman-to-treadle connector located at the bottom of the footman and then slip the drive band behind the footman and then up and over the flyer/bobbin assembly, before finally refitting the polycord connector.

For modern models, and again those that have just the one tall upright post at the back, but this time instead of having a metal locking nut at the front of the footman has a plastic cup and ring arrangement sandwiched between the footman and the drive wheel and which attaches to the drive wheel’s shaft, the easiest way to to ‘unsnap’ the cup and ring and then slip the drive band down in between the footman and the drive wheel, and then up and over the flyer/bobbin assembly, before finally snapping the cup and ring back together again. For all models that have TWO uprights – again one at the back but this time also one right at the front, additional disassembly of the spinning wheel is required – see the Louet assembly instructions for more info.

Instead of dismantling the spinning wheel, you may prefer to work with an unjoined length of polycord, feeding it around the assembled wheel, and then fusing the ends together yourself in-situ - See my listing 'For Ashford Kromski And More Spinning Wheel Drive Band Belt'.
