For Ashford Joy and Joy 2 Scotch Tension Brake Band Kits

Direct replacements for the Scotch Tension brake band system on the Ashford Joy (Joy ‘1’) and Joy 2 spinning wheels. This pre-assembled kit comprises a pair of steel springs, already tied approximately 220mm (22cm) apart for the Joy or 270mm (27cm) apart for the Joy 2, to a length of nylon brake band line, one brass-plated screw eye, which is already attached to one of the springs, and a length of additional nylon line, approximately 250mm (25cm) in length already tied to the other spring, which you will need to attach to the brake band tension knob (not supplied). Trim this second length of line if necessary. Also supplied is an additional 70cm of nylon line, in case you every need to replace the line in the future.

NB. If you are unsure which model Ashford Joy wheel you have, the older Joy (“Joy 1”) model has a curved wooden grab handle at the top and the Joy 2 doesn’t.
