For Ashford Country Spinner Spinning Wheel Drive Band Stretchy Grippy Polycord

My clear, orange or black, stretchy, grippy, polycord drive bands are ideal as direct compatible replacements for both the Ashford Country Spinner 1 and Country Spinner 2 wheels, and the two ends are already fused together to create a completed circular drive band (as the originals are). They cost the same price of £10.95 each (plus postage).

NB. The black drive band has a barely noticeable, 14mm long manufacturers inscription of tiny grey characters located every 30cm along one side (please see photo).

To fit the drive band, some disassembly of the spinning wheel will be required, and you will need a cross-head (Phillips) screwdriver for the Country Spinner 1, and a cross-head screwdriver and an Allen Key ('Hex Wrench') for the Country Spinner 2 (Ashford provided the Allen Key with the Country Spinner 2, and this will probably be a 5/32inch).

I provide you with a printed sheet containing the URL links and QR codes to download the Assembly Guides in PDF format for three models of the Country Spinner from the Ashford website. These guides provide assembly diagrams which you may find helpful.

Instead of dismantling the spinning wheel, you may prefer to work with an unjoined length of polycord, feeding it around the assembled wheel, and then fusing the ends together yourself in-situ - See my listing 'For Ashford Kromski And More Spinning Wheel Drive Band Belt'.

NB. These drive bands are not made by Ashford, but have been produced here in south Wales, UK.

NB. If you are unsure which model Country Spinner you have, then there are a number of physical differences to help you identify the two models apart. Firstly, the Country Spinner 2 has three ratios on the main drive wheel; the Country Spinner 1 has just the one ratio. Secondly, the Country Spinner 2 has an 'arched' wooden front piece at the top (with the Ashford logo on it); the Country Spinner 1 has an almost triangular-shaped top piece (also with the logo). Incidentally, the Country Spinner 2 2020 version is supplied with a flyer that has sliding 'hook's; the hooks on the Country Spinner 1 and Country Spinner 2 2014 version are of the more traditional, 'cup-hook' style.
