About
From Fibre To Finish, incorporating The Spinning Wheel Doctor, is a small business run by myself, Bob Grainger, and is based in the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, south Wales, UK. I have an interest in spinning wheels and spinning, along with a number of other
fibre-related crafts. I have a personal collection of more than seventy vintage/antique spinning wheels, and I’m busy renovating them so that they are restored to good working order once more. I also service spinning wheels for customers, and a professional service typically costs from around £30 to £40, plus the cost of any replacement parts or upgrades. I outsource any wood-turning work to a very experienced local wood turner. I also sell a large number of spinning wheel replacement parts, spare parts and accessories in my secure Online Shop, and also my
Ebay Shop.
Polite request: I would prefer that items are bought directly from my online shop, to avoid the Ebay fees!
From Fibre To Finish/The Spinning Wheel Doctor is based in the grounds of the beautiful
Craig-y-Nos Country Park, in the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, south Wales, UK. The
park covers more than forty-acres, has two large ponds, a boat house, ducks and geese, two rivers, meadows, picnic benches, a bandstand, a large number of electric vehicle charging bays (including 50kW rapid chargers), the
Dwy Afon tea rooms/café, toilets
and The Artists and Makers Emporium craft and gift shop. Also at the park,
my partner, Tina O'Keefe, runs
Fairy Cwtch, a small business providing a professional clothing
alterations service plus needlecraft tuition. Tina also sells gifts and seasonal products made from fabrics and yarns. The
park is very much wheelchair accessible, has disabled toilets, free disabled parking, is very dog-friendly and has inexpensive parking (£3/day).
